Very Varga

We've been quite BUSY these last few months! We decided to buy a house and move into it! The whole buying process took about a month. Hooray for us and the beautiful home we now enjoy!

I think this is the last picture we'll post that was taken in our apartment (it served us well for 2 1/2 years, but we're more than glad to be living elsewhere!). This is the position in which I found Katie Lynne's feet the morning of our BIG move . . .

We moved in on Monday, April 13th, the day after Easter (also Glen's last day of Spring Break), but the house was officially ours on the 8th, and completely empty and ready for all of our stuff on the 11th. The girls were such troopers throughout the whole process, but Sarah Jane was still so unsure about it all. So we decided to have an Easter Egg Hunt in our empty house so as to associate fun, laughter, and a bit of candy with the new house. ;)

After our last church meetings with our old ward (literally . . . in our new ward the oldest person is about 40 and there are 200+ primary kids, 50ish kids under the age of 18 mos, and a dozen or so due before the end of the year!), we enjoyed a yummy, YUMMY dinner at Aunt Syl and Uncle Clint's house.

Post-dinner relax time . . .

Hayley has been an incredible help to us this last month, being available for babysitting while Glen and I were either going crazy with the house or just needing a few hours of sanity time. Thanks Hayley!

The day of our move was quite laboring! Glen, with a few hours help from our home teacher, and several hours of labor by the high priest group leader, loaded the moving truck. It took from 10 am until about 7 pm. Aunt Sylvia came over and helped me pack up all the random things you can't really pack up until the end. Uncle Clint came by and helped carry those random things to the truck. And our friend, John, whose wife watched the girls in the morning, followed us to the new house to help us unload. I sent John and Glen off to the house while I picked up the girls and a bunch of pizza for whoever might show up to unload. Since the loading took so long, I thought the unloading would take just as long, even with John's fabulous help. My plan of action was to get the girls beds set up, put them to sleep, and then stay up all night helping Glen unload, all the time wondering how he was going to make it through the next day of school.

Much to our JOYOUS SURPRISE, when Glen drove into our neighborhood, dozens of men poured out of their homes to help us unpack the truck! Their wives came over to introduce themselves and to plan who would bring us dinners that week. The kids played with Sarah Jane to her heart's content. Mark, Suzy, and their boys also showed up to help out. Thanks to Mark, my washer and dryer were set up and ready to roll in just minutes! The emptying of the truck took about 30 minutes and people still kept coming by to see if we needed any help. Our neighborhood/ward is fabulous! We love them all!!!

A partial view from our back door. Glen will be building a big ol' deck off the back so we can really enjoy our view from Draper to Santaquin, including Mount Timpanogos and Utah Lake.

We're outside so much now! We have a great front yard to ride trikes in and a backyard attached to the park to play in.
This picture is was taken just after a jubilant "Happy Birthday" song sung to Glen. Suzy made Glen one of his favorite cakes for his birthday, oatmeal with coconut frosting, and gave a taste to Katie who let us know how much she liked it. She said and signed "More!" (with exclamation point!) for the first time. She's probably looking at and longing for the cake in this picture.

Sarah Jane has been such a great kid! I think She really likes our new house, her new room, her new friends, and, especially, all the space in which to run around crazy!

This was to be our Happy Mother's Day video for Grandma Florence. (Grandma Cassie stayed at our house that day.) It wasn't all that happy of a moment for my girls. Sarah Jane fell down and scraped her knees on the way home from Church and it was simply nap time for Katie.
But because the moment was just so hilariously sad for my girls, I posted the video anyway.
